✦ Synopsis
YN molecules have been produced in a pulsed free jet apparatus by laser vaporizing yttrium metal in the presence of He doped with NH 3 . Laser induced dispersed fluorescence spectra have been studied. Previously unobserved low-energy excited state, a 3 R þ , has been discovered. RKR potential curves of the X 1 R þ ground state as well as of the A 1 R þ and a 3 R þ excited states have been determined. Harmonic wavenumbers have been measured to be equal to: 633.2(10), 1007.4(25), and 805:12ð63Þ cm À1 for the X 1 R þ , A 1 R þ , and a 3 R þ states, respectively.

In this paper a new spectroscopic investigation on the X 1 ⌺ ϩ electronic ground state of the RbCs molecule is reported. This study is conducted by using laser-induced fluorescence combined with Fourier transform spectroscopy (LIF-FTS). More than 23 000 spectral data are used in a global linear redu
