The measurement of the electronic spectrum of triple-decker phthalocyanine trimer in solution showing the existence of lowlying excited states in the near-IR region is reported. The spectroscopic measurement in solution was made possible by using a newly synthesized trimer ( [ (Pc)Lu (CRPc)Lu(Pc) ]:
