โฆ Synopsis
The kinetic energy of electrons incident to the wedge electrode is supposed to be small compared to the absolute value of their kinetic energy in the barrier region surrounding this electrode. We find the electron wave function in the barrier region. As an application we calculate the conductance of a tunnel junction between the wedge and a small probe in dependence of the coordinates of the probe for wedge angles a = ~r/2 and a = w/4. This dependence has an oscillating character vanishing with distance from the vertex of the wedge.
* In section 4 we shall take into account that the incident electrons are three-dimensional.
