It is shown that miscd electron transfer tluorescencc quenching espcriments in which formation of the fluorcscer triplet state is effectively inhibited ullow new electron transfer reactions to bc invcstigatcd. The rate constants obtaincd are discussed with rcspcct to the free-energy changes involved in the reactions.
