At the simplest level, the zero-field splitting for (II) ions doped into cis-Mg(dibenzoylmethane)2a trans-complex is expected to be double that for an (dimethylformamide)2 and Mg(hexafluoroacetylanalogous cis-complex and opposite in sign.
