✦ Synopsis

EPR studies of Cu 2ϩ ions doped in KZnClSO 4 •3H 2 O single crystals have been studied at different temperatures. Two magnetically inequivalent Cu 2ϩ sites have been identified. The Cu 2ϩ ions in the lattice are found to be in rhombic symmetry. The temperature variation studies of polycrystalline EPR spectra reveal that Cu 2ϩ ions exhibit dynamic and static Jahn-Teller effects above and below the Jahn-Teller transition temperature, respectively. The temperature-dependant spin-Hamiltonian parameters were evaluated and discussed.
