Abstract
EPR spectra have been recorded at 77 Β°K on Ti~3~O~5~, crystals which were found to be twinned by Xβray characterization. The spectra show several weak lines and two intense lines with anisotropic gβfactors. The presence of the two main lines has been attributed to the twinning. The line intensity corresponds to a spin concentration of the order of 10^β4^ of the Ti^3+^ ions. The spectra are believed to be due to Ti^2+^ ions and related to the breaking of some covalent metalβmetal bonds involving the localization of come 3d electrons on one of the three different Ti sites. The line anisotropy has been ascribed to the distorted octahedral crystal field.
