✦ Synopsis
In this paper we report the dielectric and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) investigations of Cu 2ϩ doped (CH 3 ) 2 NH 2 Al(SO 4 ) 2 •6H 2 O (DMAAS) crystals. The dielectric measurements indicate that in the copper-rich samples the temperature of the ferroelectric phase transition increases to 158 K compared to T c 152 K in pure crystals. The EPR spin-Hamiltonian parameters of Cu 2ϩ were determined at room temperature. The ground state wave function ͉C͘ of Cu 2ϩ which replaces Al 3ϩ in DMAAS is mixed: ͉C͘ 0.985͉x 2 Ϫ y 2 Ͼ ϩ 0.173͉z 2 ͘ and does not change in the temperature range of 80-300 K. No changes in the EPR spectra, attributable to the para-ferroelectric phase transition, were observed.
