✦ Synopsis

We present a study of electron momentum density distribution in Multiwall Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT). The Compton profile measurement is made using 59.54 keV gamma-rays from Am 241 source. In the absence of band structure-based calculations, the experimental data is compared with the Compton profile of graphite and C 60 . The results reveal that like C 60 the electron momentum density is more localized in momentum space in MWCNT than graphite.
