## Abstract The synthesis of polymers of the type (โ€Czโ€C๏ฃฝCโ€PtL~2~โ€C๏ฃฝCโ€Czโ€Xโ€)~__n__~ along with the corresponding model compounds (Phโ€PtLโ€ฒ~2~โ€C๏ฃฝCโ€Cz)~2~โ€Xโ€, where Cz=3,3โ€ฒโ€carbazole, X=nothing, Cz, or F (2,2โ€ฒโ€fluorene), L=PBu~3~, and Lโ€ฒ=PEt~3~ are reported. The electronic spectra (absorption, excitat
