## Abstract The negative ion mass spectra of __p__‐nitrobenzoyl derivatives of amino esters show pronounced molecular anions and characteristic fragmentation patterns. Fragment anions observed in the spectra of __o__‐nitrobenzoyl analogues arise by various interactions between the nitro and amino e

## Abstract The mass spectra of eighteen n‐alkyl estars of p‐methoxybenzoic acid are examined. Few differences exist in the spectra of the corresponding para and meta isomers. We describe a new rearrangement, loss of OH from the molecular ion, whichis observed only in the para substituted isomkers.
