✦ Synopsis

We extend a previous work (I) on the effects of electron focusing on the transport properties of a semiinfinite metallic slab in the presence Of a magnetic field. We relax some of the approximations made in I to include (i) a realistic Fermi surface (for the case of Bi), (ii) changed boundary conditions for current injection into the slab, and (iii) partial specular scattering of the electrons at the surface. The qualitative agreement with experimental results for Bi obtained in I is reproduced with a marked improvement in cases (i) and (iii) above.
