✦ Synopsis

Nonsymmetric inhomogeneous step expansion in a planeparallel wa¨eguide is studied. Its coupling with the regular channel is arranged through a closely spaced grating of metal strips on the substrate. Scattering characteristics are found from the solution of the electromagnetic problem by use of the double-side equi¨alent boundary conditions and the method of moments. The influence of the resonant ca¨ity parameters on single-mode and multimode regimes of work is analyzed.
