โฆ Synopsis
The electrodynamic processes underlying both types of interactions are considered; the field problem is formulated at hand of a simplified machine model and results, normally derived in terms of lumped parameters, are directly obtained from Maxwell's equations, thus lending a deeper and more basic meaning to the relevant formulae.
