EDR is being used successfully to desalt waters for reuse. Capabilities of the process and the corrective actions possible when problems occur make EDR an attractive choice. Coll~)idal fouling, the most general problem, can be treated by manual cleaning allowing the EDR system to be recovered at low cost without need to purchase costly or unavailable materials.
