โฆ Synopsis
The general topic of these articles is PEM fuel cell electrode materials. In this domain, a major contribution, which would be paramount for the future success of PEM fuel cell technology, is the development of new non-noble metal electrodes. However, at a current working temperature of 90 ยฐC, this development is a quite difficult task, especially at the cathode side; this is one of the incentives to increase the working temperature of PEMs, creating however other problems related to the membrane. In the meantime, technologies with reduced noble metal loading might be an intermediate solution of significant commercial impact.
