✦ Synopsis

Electrode reaction of 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-nitroxide (TMPNO) cation at platinum in acetonitrile containing anhydrous hydrogep chloride was investigated by means of linear sweep voltammetry, electric conductivity measurement and esr spectrum, TMPNO cation is reversibly reduced to TMPNO radical which undergoes an irreversible protonation to cation radical with a rate constant of approximately 5.9 x 1031/mol/s.
