β¦ Synopsis
Manganese-dioxide electrodes prepared by electrodeposition
on the graphite rods were discharged in the alkaline solution at constant current density. The potential/time curves can be fairly explained on the basis of diiusion of the reaction product into the solid electrode. The ratedetermining step in the discharge process of the manganese-dioxide electrode in alkaline solution is the diffusion process of MnOOH, which is the primary product of discharge reaction, from the electrode surface towards the inner part of the solid electrode.
