✦ Synopsis

A quantitative expression has been obtamed for the equivalent resistance of an internal short m rechargeable cells under constant voltage charging. The expression has been experimentally verified with both positivelimited and negative-hmited nickel-cadmium cells, usmg simulated mternal electronic shorts. Fmdmgs show that the absolute values of the resistance of such mternal shorts can be predicted m an accelerated and non-destructive manner.
