β¦ Synopsis
Abstnet--The oxidation process for ferrmne has been studied by cyclic voltammetry rotating disk voltammetry and chronoamperometry in chloroform, at Pt, Au and GC electrodes using Bu,NClO, (TBAP) as supporting electrolyte. Using rotating disk voltammetry with IR compensation the charge transfer rate constants (&O) and the charge transfer coefficient (a) were determined. The dilTusion coe!Ticient value for ferrocene, determined by chronoamperometry. is 1.87 x lo-" cm-'s-l in 0.5 M chloroform solution of TBAP. The obtained data are in accord with the approximate reversibility of ferrocene-ferricinium redox couple and suggest that ferrocene can be used as a voltammetric standard in chloroform.
