✦ Synopsis
A study on electroconduction and electrokinetic parameters of ionic plugs is presented. Streaming potential and electric conductance measurements were carried out with three different ion-exchange plugs and various electrolyte concentrations [NaOH]. Comparison between theoretical and experimental values of the surface charge density (a0) and the electrokinetic potential allow electrokinetic characterization of such porous systems and information on structural details of the matrix permeant interface.
