Poly(2,5-d~methoxyamhne) has been synthesued by cycbc voltammetry m an H,SO,-Na,SO, solution The fanle polymer growth IS due to the electron donor abdlty of the -OCH, group The polymer film behaves as an almost pure capacitor m the voltage range -0 2 to 0 5 V vs see In this range, the senes resistance associated wtth the capacitor IS qmte low A maxmum conduchvlty of 0 35Scm-' has been measured at 02V The shape of the cychc voltammetry curves IS mamly detemuned by the capaclttve character of the polymer film on which the peaks due to the mam redox processes, the structural defects and the degradation reactlon are supenmposed The polymer does not show a good stab&y m the acldlc solution
