The immobilized complex showed an electrochemical response due to the Ru(II)/Ru(III) redox cou-EXPERIMENTAL ple. By substituting the coordinated water molecule in the adsorbed complex, the midpoint potentials shifted in the order (in Zirconium(IV) Oxide Coated on the Silica Gel Surface mV) water, 0290; thiocyanate, 0200; pyridine, 0180; 4-cyanopyridine, 080; and pyrazine, 050 vs SCE.
