✦ Synopsis
Current efficiency, voltage efficiency and power consumption were studied for the electrochemical generation of ozone in a two-compartment cell as a unction of current density, anode diaphragm gap width and distance between the anode lower edge and cell bottom (clearance). The results indicated that the current efficiency ranged from 3.9-7.0 % ) voltage efficiency from B-47%, while the power consumption and energy efficiency ranged from 270-790 kWh/kg and 0.62-2.14%) respectively. Even though the new technique consumes more energy as compared to the conventional spark technique, its potential uses as a portable generator for a safe water disinfe~~t are unlimited~ Key wrrrk ozone, ozone generation, disinfections water tr~tme~t
