✦ Synopsis
The electrochemical reduction of [99Tc]pertechnetate ion in the presence of 1,3-dimercaptopropane, 2,3-dimercaptopropanol and 2,3-dimercapto succinic-acid was carried out in alkaline aqueous media. For these experiments, the potentials imposed to the mercury pool electrode were selected from the voltammograms of TcO2-1igand solution recorded at a HMDE. The coulometric experiment evolution was followed by spectrophotometry and voltammetry. The species obtained were precipitated as tetraphenylarsonium salts and characterized by u.v., visible and i.r. spectrophotometry. The results demonstrate that technetium (V)-dithiolate complexes were obtained in the electroreduction of TcO~-in these media.
Similar results were obtained in the chemical reduction of TcO2 with Sn(II), in the same media.
