✦ Synopsis

Au/Pb(ad) electrodes were prepared by the underpotential depmition of lead ions at various potentials in 1M HCIO, solution containing Pb(CHsCOO)2 at concentrations of about l × 10 -2, 1 × 10-" and 1 × 10-6M, respectively. The best preparation condition was selected. These electrodes, modified by foreign metal atom were used to catalyze the reduction of nitrate in concentrated alkaline solution, and exhibited efficient eiectrocatalytic activity for this system.
