✦ Synopsis
Cathode photocurrents on platinum and palladium are measured. From the relationship between the value of photocurrent and potential, tight wavelength and acceptor concentration, it is shown that these photocurrents are cmissive in nature. It is established that photoemission currents on weakly platinizcd platinum and on weakly pa&d&d palladium (with a roughness factor under 30) are proportional to the true surf&e area. Photoemission currents from platinum and palladium microdeposits on titanium and @ass carbon are measured. Et is demonstrated that photoemission from palladium micro&posits on titanium does no,t differ from the photoemission on pure palladium. In other cases, the potential dependence of the photoemission current deviates from the S/2 Law; it is significant that the photoemission currents on platinum microdeposits are higher than those on pure platinum, while the photoemission currents on palladium microdeposits on glass carbon are lower than those on pure palladium. These results correlate well with the electrocatalytic properties of the platinum and palladium microdepasits.
