✦ Synopsis


The catalytic electro-oxidation of hydra&e by H,TMAP and CoTMAP ha8 been investigated. The kinetic parameters of the electrode reaction were measured and the reaction mechanism for the electro-oxidation of hydranine in the presence of HaTMAP and CoTMAP is proposed. The electrocatalysis of the porphyrin ring, a novel kind of electrocatalysis of metalloporphyrins, is discussed.

The catalytic electroreduction of dithiodipropionic acid with the water-soluble cobalt(III)tetrakis@-trimethylammoniumphenyl)porphyrin (CoTMAP) has been investigated using electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical methods. CoTMAP is a good catalyst for the electroreduction of dithiodipropionic acid
