✦ Synopsis

This paper focuses on the establishment of a set of design criteria for the construction of an electroacoustic simulation setup. The setup is for use in a study of perception of timbre of reproduced sound in small to medium-sized domestic rooms. The design criteria are mainly a result of psychoacoustical considerations based on a study of the literature. The criteria and the implementation of the direct sound, the early reflections and the reverberant field are discussed.
