meeting of the Section was held in the Hall of the Institute, Thursday, March 23, 1922, at eight o'clock, P.M., with Dr. Harry F. Keller in the Chair. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. R. B. Moore, Sc.D., Chief Chemist, Bureau of Mines, United States Department of the Interior, delivered an address on "Low Temperature Research and the Cryogenic Laboratory of the Bureau of Mines." was given of the history of the liquefaction of gases with special reference to air, hydrogen, and helium. The application of low temperature work to physical constants and to the knowledge of the constitution of matter was described. The lecture was illustrated by lantern slides and experiments.
The communication was discussed at length; a vote of thanks was extended to Doctor Moore; and the meeting adjourned.
