✦ Synopsis
La 1-x Ag x MnO 3 compounds have been prepared for x = 0-0.35. The X-ray diffraction patterns for x = 0 and 0.05 could be refined by using Pbnm space group, whereas for x ≥ 0.10, they could be refined by using R 3c space group. Measurements of ac susceptibility show that all the above Ag-doped samples exhibit paramagnetic to ferromagnetic transitions in the temperature range 251-294 K. The freezing of spin glass like behavior has been observed at around 100 K. The above Ag-doped samples exhibit metal-insulator transitions in the temperature range (T MI ) 242-290 K. The resistivity data in the metallic region could be fitted to the expression corresponding to electron-electron scattering mechanism.
