✦ Synopsis

The adsorption of thiourea at mercury from acetone containing 0.05 KPF6 was studied on the basis of differential capacity results. The data were analysed to obtain the surface pressure and the surface excess of thiourea as a function of charge and bulk thiourea concentration. Then, using the Parsons method electrostatic properties of the inner layer were determined and discussed. The parameters are compared with those obtained from ethanol KPF, system containing thiourea.

The adsorption of CFSCOO ions at the H&aqueous CF,COOH interphase was studied, using both differential and electrocapillary measurements. The hump of the C,-E curve diminishes as the concentration increases from the 0.2 M solution, which is attributed to adsorption of undissociated CF,COOH molecules

A careful study of aqueous sodium fluoride solutions was carried out by the electrocapillary method. Detailed attention was given to the adsorption behaviour in dilute solutions and the results are compared with published work. Causes of discrepancies in interfacial tensions obtained directly and in
