β¦ Synopsis
The surface contact resistivities of high T c superconductors with different methods of connection have been compared. The current -voltage (I-V) characteristics of the contacts have been investigated and analysed. It was found that an amount of silver added to an YBCO superconductor affected the contact resistance between the lead and sample. The lowest surface contact resistivity, 1.3 Γ 10 -7 f~ cm 2, was obtained using a method involving sintering of a silver film.
