โฆ Synopsis
The spin ahgnment of tripIet traps of the polar 4,4'dichlorobenzophenone neat crystal is changed by applying an external electric field which results in a change of the phosphorescence intensity and phosphorescence microwave double resonance (PhIDR) signals. Thus and the results of other experiments C&I best be explained if one assumes that the field modifies the triplet -rather than singlet -exciton dynamics. A possible field-induced change in the radiative properties of the spin levels of the shallow traps (13-l 7 cm-t ) is also observed.
