The underlying formation mechanisms and the properties of long-period gratings produced through arc discharges are intrinsically related to the temperature reached by the fibre during arc exposure. In this work, the determination of the fibre temperature was based on PlankΓs blackbody radiation law.

## Abstract The formation mechanisms and properties of arcβinduced gratings are intrinsically related to the temperature attained by the fiber during arc exposure. In this work, we present further results on the estimation of the fiber temperature based on the use of electrically insulated thermoco
