โœฆ Synopsis

Elasticity of the spatial H-bond network is manifested in the tendency to retain its initial configuration. It is described most adequately by the isothermal compressibility or by the inverse valuethe module of all-round compression. From experimental data on the isothermal compressibility of liquids with and without three-dimensional network we calculated the elasticity at 298 K. A comparison of these two classes of liquids shows, that the elasticity of liquids with spatial network of H-bonds is several times higher than that without and that its dependence on the length of the hydrocarbon chain in the molecule is different. This analysis led us to the conclusion that the elasticity of liquids with spatial H-bond network should be attributed to the elasticity of the H-bond network. We also studied the elasticity of the common spatial network of H-bonds in aqueous solutions of diamines, diols and aminoalcohols.

The elasticity parameter Mw of the spatial H-bond network (SN) is defined and calculated as the ratio of the librational-state lifetime to the mean librational period. Wide band dielectric spectra, observed in a number of aqueous systems, are employed as the basis of the theoretical estimation of Mw

We present results of molecular dynamics simulations of water confined in a silica pore. A cylindrical cavity is created inside a vitreous silica cell with geometry and size similar to the pores of real Vycor glass. The simulations are performed at different hydration levels. At all hydration levels
