Study of the elastic properties of SrLaAlO 4 (SLA) and SrLaGaO 4 (SLG) crystals has been reported. The absorption of the yellow and green SLA and SLG crystals in the visible range was also investigated. The results obtained are discussed in terms of the nature of the oxygen point defects, which migh
