The growth of single crystals of antimony and antimony-rich antimony-bismuth alloys by zone-melting is briefly described, especially with regard to constitutional supercooling at the growth of solid solutions.
An electrolytical method of etching dislocations in antimony and antimonybismuth solid solutions is presented. It is concluded from the results of different investigations that etch pits correspond t o dislocation sites.
The orientation dependence of etching behaviour of dislocations has been investigated using several etching reagents.

## Abstract The electrodeposition of Sb and Bi on gold electrodes from HCl solutions was studied using a voltammetric thin layer technique. The metal deposition is preceded by the formation of cation adsorption monolayers. Alloy formation could not be observed.
