Abstract
Incubation of microsonics with the supernatant of pH−5‐enzymes is as active in incorporating amino‐acids into proteins (controlled by use of leucin‐[^14^C]) as incubation with the usual system, which is supplied with pH−5‐enzymes. Since the supernatant of pH−5‐enzymes does not contain any soluble ribonucleic acid (sRNA), all the le∼ciri‐[^14^C] found in nucleic acids must be hound to microsonial KNA. The behaviour of the isolated microsomal KNA on Sephadex G 75, and of the ribonuclease digest in paper electrophoresis, confirms our suggestion of the presence of an active sRNA fraction in microsomes and ribosomes.
