Electronic wavefunctions of Tm 3+ in intermediate coupling were obtained and used to calcuiate the Ut") matrix elements bctween al1 possible states of the 4f'* confïguration. T?:e Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters ax obtaincd for Tm3+ in phosphate and tellurite glasscs were used in conjunction with the Ll(')' s to calculate the forced electric dipole line strengths. The total electric -czri magnetic radiative transition probabïlities are calculateä. The entire theoretical spectrum involving the ground and cxcitcd Icvcls (from 129 nm to 16447 nm) is given.
