β¦ Synopsis
An analytical procedure is proposed for the evaluation of the eigenfrequencies of a thin-walled beam curved in plan in response to transverse bending and torsion with various boundary conditions. The analysis is performed through the introduction of four non-dimensionalized geometric parameters which govern the dynamic behaviour of the beam. These parameters lead to an equally non-dimensionalized eigenfrequency parameter through an appropriate treatment of the di!erential equations on the basis of a computer program specially developed for this purpose. This program is also applied to investigate the in#uence of the aforementioned parameters on the eigenfrequency behaviour of a thin-walled girder.
