✦ Synopsis

Various transmission system planning considerations leading towards the determination of optimum EHV transmission voltage level, timing and power transfer capabilities, and series and shunt reactive requirements of EHV transmission facilities are discussed. The use of HVDC is also discussed with break-even transmission distances.
