✦ Synopsis


This paper presents the application of the nonuniform orthogonal mesh FDTD method combined with Mur's second-order ABC to structures that ha¨e symmetrical planes. Particularly, it is re¨ealed that, in order to combine Mur's second-order ABC with a symmetrical plane, an alternate form of Mur's second-order ABC, instead of its con¨entional form, has to be employed. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed FDTD algorithm are confirmed by analyzing a slot-loaded bow-tie microstrip antenna that has experimental results for comparison.
