✦ Synopsis
Efficient introduction of perfluorinated tails onto aromatic rings has been achieved by Heck reaction between perfluoroalkenes and arenediazonium salts, catalysed by palladium acetate. Subsequent transition metal catalysed hydrogenation of the double bond afforded a large variety of aromatic compounds bearing an affinity for fluorous solvents.
