of linear chirping, and they were able to explain the distortion effects due to ''dispersive'' propagation of chirped pulses assuming only high values of the semiconductor laser extinction ratio. In high-bit-rate systems, such a parameter is instead rather low, and this imposes more accurate analysi

✦ Synopsis
In this letter, a method to determine the sampling inter¨als for the spline-type di¨ided-difference interpolation of spectral integrals is suggested by utilizing simple differentiation of the interpolating function. It impro¨es the numerical efficiency of the recent research based on the spline-type di¨ided-difference interpolation scheme. The proposed method is applied to analyze the characteristics of an aperture-coupled patch antenna. Numerical results obtained by using this approach are in good agreement with those of other approaches.
