Responses of gastric myenteric neurones evoked by the mammalian tachykinins substance P (SP), neurokinin A (NKA) and neurokinin B (NKB) were investigated using conventional intracellular recording methods. Application of the tachykinins caused a long lasting depolarization of the membrane potential
