✦ Synopsis
The effects of NaF, NaCl, NaJ3r and NaI on the sohd-matrur room-temperature fluorescence (RTF) and room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) of phenylphenol Isomers adsorbed on filter-paper were mvestlgated The RTF signals of the three phenylphenols showed a decrease m mtenslty with Increase m the molecular weight of the salt However, owmg to the heavy-atom effect, the RTP signals mcreased substanhally mth mcreasmg molecular weight of the salt. Several quenching models were exammed for the RTP data In general, a modified Pernn model was found to represent the data very effectively because d consIdered the unquenched fluorescence and other aspects related to fluorescence quenchmg
