โœฆ Synopsis

We present a Monte Carlo simulation of a small metallic junction with quasi-particle dissipation. In the present contribution we report results concerning the phase correlation functions and the specific heat of the system. We observe the possibility of a phase transition as the strength of dissipation is varied.

We report that the energy dissipation of Josephson junction can be controlled by quasi-particle injection. We fabricated two Josephson junctions on the narrow aluminum wire and controlled the energy dissipation of one junction by quasi-particle injection from the other. We observed the retrapping cu

The transport properties of two-dimensional arrays of small Josephson junctions shunted with ohmic resistors are investigated. The zero-temperature phase diagram shows a phase transition driven by quantum fluctuations and dissipation. The recovery of Josephson-like current by the dissipation is disc
