✦ Synopsis
In this work, new types of the homogeneous ion-exchange membranes based on the sulphonated poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylenoxide) (PPO) and PPO intermoleculary complexed with Poly(2-butylaniline) (PBA) or poly[2,2'-(m-phenylene)±5,5'-bibenzimidazole] (PBI) were synthesised. According to thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), these membranes exhibit good mechanical properties even at the temperatures at least up to 240 C. In the first step, we examined their transport properties as a function of the membrane composition and thickness at the room temperature. Two basic electrochemical techniques (impedance spectroscopy and ionic exchange) were used to complete this task.
