โฆ Synopsis
A pressurized Gieseler plastometer was used to show that the maximum fluidity is affected by pressure and the characteristic temperatures are also shifted. Generally, with increased pressure there is a decrease in the softening and maximum fluid temperatures and an increase in the resolidification temperature and total temperature range of fluidity. These shifts are explained in terms of the effect of pressure on vapour-liquid equilibria and/or hydrogen abstraction and free radical stabilization.
